Turn any visual into
an interface for what it means.

Draw a region on any print, photo, or diagram and connect it to the structured record, relationships, and intelligence behind it. Electrical, AV, and MEP contractors run the deepest version of this today — from first punch list to handover.

How GridStack actually works

“The visual becomes the interface; what it represents is determined by the user.”

Draw a region on any print, photo, or diagram — a floor plan, a one-line, an elevation, a nameplate photo — and it becomes a live link into your project's structured record. What that region means is set by your organization's own words, not hard-coded into the product.

ELECTRICAL
Interactive Print · Room · Equipment
GridStack's founding vocabulary — the deepest, most proven path.
MODULAR CONSTRUCTION
Module Layout · Space · Assembly
Same visual, same relationships — QA/QC Issue in place of Punch Item.
FACILITIES / OWNER
Room · Equipment · Building Record
Day-to-day words stay familiar; the record kept after handover gets its own name.

Every organization sets its own words for these from Settings — see it live in the demo.

Project Intelligence

AI that reasons over your project, not just stores it.

Project Intelligence runs on your project's live, structured data — every record, relationship, and change — to understand what's happening, explain why it matters, and act before small issues become expensive ones. Electrical, AV, and MEP contractors run the deepest version of this today, reasoning across live panels, RFIs, inspections, and schedule.

Understand
Reads your project's live structured record — every panel, document, relationship, and change — not a static export.
Detect
Catches problems the moment they appear: an overloaded panel, a failed inspection, a missed submittal.
Explain
Traces a root-cause chain back to what actually happened, not just a red flag with no context.
Monitor
Every change cascades automatically — health recalculated, risk flagged, follow-up work created.
Answer
Ask it a project question and get an answer from your own live data, with the evidence attached.
Act
162 connected tools mean it can create the punch item, not just tell you one is needed.

The same reasoning runs whether the record started as a panel schedule, a punch list, or a maintenance photo.

Same chain, different project

The visual changes. The chain doesn't.

Construction is where GridStack runs deepest today — see below. But the visual → region → information chain underneath it isn't wired to floor plans.

MODULAR CONSTRUCTION
Module layout → space → assembly
A layout drawing is still the visual, but the region becomes a Space and the object it holds becomes an Assembly. A QA/QC Issue stands in for a punch item; Turnover stands in for handover — manufacturer vocabulary, same underlying chain.
FACILITIES / OWNER
Floor plan → room → building record
Same floor plan, same rooms and equipment — but the record they feed doesn't end when the trades leave. It becomes the building record an owner's facilities team keeps open for the life of the property.
EXISTING CONDITIONS
Photo → identified object → confirmed record
The visual doesn't have to be a drawing at all. A nameplate photo becomes the region; a confirmed equipment record becomes the information behind it — the same chain, started from a camera instead of a print.

Modular Construction and Facilities / Owner are real presets your organization can select today — see them live in the demo. Not every architecturally possible use has a shipped workflow package yet.

Construction / MEP specialization

One core architecture. Specialized down to the panel.

Everything above runs for any project. Layer on GridStack's Construction/MEP capabilities and it goes deep — live panel schedules, routing hints computed straight from the drawing, and readiness signals built from field evidence, not a checkbox. This is GridStack's deepest implementation today, built with electrical, AV, and MEP contractors.

Panel Schedules
Circuit routing linked directly to the drawing it lives on.
Routing Hints
Direction and distance from panel to room, calculated straight from the drawing.
Readiness
A real go/no-go signal for a room or piece of equipment, computed from field evidence.
RFIs & Submittals
Review workflow and spec tracking, gate-checked against the schedule.
Schedule & Budget
Gantt gated to budget — change orders and procurement in the same record.
Commissioning & Field
Formal verification and daily field activity roll into the readiness signal above.

Continuity

The record doesn't end when the work does.

Connected information can keep working long after the phase that created it — whatever the visual represented stays a live record instead of a dead export.

In construction, that means a project doesn't go quiet at turnover: the panel schedule, the equipment record, and the readiness history become the owner's Property Passport.

Owner Portal · Passport
Project Passport— One persistent building record, not a folder that goes stale
Handover Readiness— What's blocking a clean handover, before it's a surprise
Field Evidence— Confirmed nameplates & photos, not guesses
Warranty Claims— Owners file straight to the installer, no lost paperwork
